April 4th was a beautiful warm, sunny, and all but WINDLESS day for the ride. ONE HUNDRED THIRTY or so riders came to enjoy the day. As folks checked in and registered for the ride, groups formed up and started off over the windmill studded hills. Three stops along the ride route were made to allow Poker hands to be filled out, and for thirsty riders to pick up complimentary sodas or water .
At the lunch stop, the ranch corrals were filled with horses, and the riders were filled with good grub from the Chuck Wagon. Before riding on to the staging area, everybody sat on the grassy banks and socialized in the warm sun waiting for results of the Poker Hand competition to be announced.
With fifty nine riders taking the Poker Hand option, the Scholarship Fund and winners of High and low hands stood to do well on the day! Roz Wentz took home the HIGH HAND award and Judy Giess the low hand cash. Both looked VERY happy!
Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make the ride happen, and a very special thanks to Shirley Hindman for the chance to ride on her beautiful Nine Mile Ranch property! (For large pictures, double click on thumbnails below.)
